This article analizes the situation of the Catalan Libraries in the following aspects: legal frame, rules, organization, space and equipment, sources, services and facilities, personnel, budget, automation and interlibrary cooperation. The date presented in the apendixes are taken from a survey and individual interviews with the directors of the libraries which were studied during October 1991.
