El trabajo se enfoca en las prácticas de empadronamiento poblacional desarrolladas en una
jurisdicción periférica del territorio rioplatense, durante el período extendido entre las reformas
borbónicas y el proceso posrevolucionario. Se busca mostrar cómo la construcción de las
listas de población a cargo de los jueces menores articulaba sus funciones judiciales y policiales
a través de modalidades que tendieron a incorporar un formato y una intensidad novedosas
en relación con los padrones anteriores. Se trabaja con fuentes originales del Archivo
General de la Provincia de Mendoza y otros documentos éditos.
