The proposal of this article is the study of the Scipio Project, an application for mobile phones promoted by the Junta de Andalucía (within its Espacios Junta platform) that allows visitors to the Archaeological Ensemble of Itálica (Seville) to simulate a trip to the past and learn what their places were like. The main objective of this work is to analyze and describe the technological tool and its viability in open spaces. The methodological nature of this work is eminently comparative and descriptive, as it is a new digital tool. The results show that the analyzed software hosts content in virtual and augmented reality, as well as 360º 3D recreations of the Amphitheater, where the interior of the coliseum has been virtually reconstructed, in such a way that the visitor can see what the stands and the arena were like. The tour of the House of the Birds recreates the hall, the peristyle and other rooms. Both are two of the most emblematic spaces of the ancient Roman city of Itálica. This type of technology achieves a better interpretation of the whole, as well as the enrichment of the visitor. In the same way, it constitutes a new way to promote cultural tourism based on living the experience through technology.
