Analysis of some aspects of “Spiritual Singing” by Joan Maragall, such as the question of the meaning of life from the beauty of the world and the celebration of the senses. Contextualization of the poem in Modernism that stipulates the correspondence between the spirit of the earth and its inhabitants. These two realities lead us to two contemporary references in the Mediterranean framework Nikos Kazantzakis and Charles de Foucauld. Finally, we compare Maragall's text with “Cant espiritual” (1950) by Josep Palau i Fabre, written forty years later and in a very different historical and cultural context. However, with a pose that seems to be in dialogue with the author of “La vaca cega”.
