Advertising, the graphic arts and industries and the innovative procedures that both areas use were put together in the late nineteenth century coinciding with the aesthetic and technical revolution. Aesthetic and technical that represented on the one hand the technological changes and on the other the aesthetic changes of that era. The “Museu de Disseny de Barcelona” presents the exhibition “The Boom of advertising” that allows a tour of the advertising of products advertised in shop windows, counters, walls or anywhere else and supports between the years 1890 and 1950. More than 250 works of graphic artists represent a good example of the aesthetic and technical boasts with which advertising and the graphic arts and industries allowed advertisers to claim the attention of the public at that time.
