Enseñar diseño exige una comprensión de principios y habilidades que incluyen liderazgo, pedagogía, metodologías de aprendizaje activo, principios de diseño, comprensión de la cognición individual y grupal, conciencia de los factores socioculturales y socioeconómicos, habilidades para resolver problemas, familiaridad con la tecnología de vanguardia, competencia en procesos y metodologías de diseño, innovación y la capacidad de fomentar la colaboración entre disciplinas en un entorno educativo en rápida evolución.
