Artista y operario. Una mirada a la posición del matte painter en la industria cinematográfica desde el sistema de estudios hasta la actualidad. Apuntes sobre su evolución futura

This paper aims to highlight the way in which a craft such as the matte painter has been affected by the profound changes that the film industry has experienced in the last decades, from the studios system, that incorporated this worker to its permanent workforce, to the current facilities model dominated by the outsourcing and atomization ideas. A necessary analysis of a resource little analyzed but that nevertheless constitutes a discreet and privileged witness of the history of cinema and its industry.
