Grabriel Veyre. Nueva mirada a los inicios de la producción cinematográfica en Cuba

The present article reveals new facts from unconsulted hemerographic sources about what is considered the first filming of Gabriel Veyre in Cuba, that which features the Bomberos del Comercio body in Havana, in february 7, 1897. The paper establishes an analysis method from the exhibition programs and the nomination of early cinematographic productions.
The research allows to entitle the above mentioned film more justly as it confirms its screening at the Payret Theater on april 11, 1903 on a British Biograph brought to Cuba by an American exhibitor, F. Williams.
New insights are also suggested about its condition of starter of the filmography on the island and about the political assumptions considered on its analysis.
