Many are the ancient records regarding Aethiopia, a mythical and remote land where those who Homer defines as ἔσχατοι  νδρῶν (Hom., Od., 1, 23) dwelled. Both the Greek sources (including the Mycenaean records) as well as the Latin ones, have passed on to the posterity fascinating tales, travel reports, fantastic stories, swinging between utopia and myth.
