Profilo dell'occitano in Piemonte: aspetti sociolinguistici

The article analyses the situation of Occitan in Piedmont from a sociolinguistic perspective,
contributing useful information to an assessment of its vitality, both internal
and external. For this purpose, we examine first parameters to determine the absolute
number of speakers, the degree of intergenerational transmission and the structure of this
repertory. Second, we look at the strategies used to enrich the lexis.
