The identity that can get lost

Usually, identity is conceived like a tautology. By means of analysis of the Kafka’s Metamorphosis and the nazi extermination camp, this article goes into the concept of identity. The proposed cases force us to accept that identity can to get lost. Losing the identity, the man keeps being, but he stopped being what he was. Tautology is not able not to be. Therefore, identity is not tautology. The possibilities that come from the identity busy the contingency’s place. Only the possibility of loss of identity is necessary. This paper reports on how everything it affect the notion of personal identity and the use of the identities in the political work.
