El presente artículo ofrece una introducción a la metodología eye-tracking (o registro de movimientos oculares) aplicada al estudio del procesamiento del lenguaje. Concretamente, revisaremos cómo ciertos procesos cognitivos involucrados en el procesamiento lingüístico (principalmente, la activación léxica y el procesamiento oracional) se pueden reflejar (y, por tanto, estudiar) a través de los patrones de movimientos oculares. Aunque originalmente este método se empleó en tareas de lectura, en este trabajo analizaremos también su aplicación para el estudio del procesamiento del lenguaje desde otras órbitas, como la comprensión y la producción de mensajes orales.
