In this article the trajectory, personality and sportive ideology of Nemesi Ponsati, one of the leaders of the Catalan Sport in the 20th century (1897-1980), is outlined. During his life he was able to combine his professional career as a chemist with an unequivocal sportive vocation at the Club Natació Barcelona, that led him to cultivate swimming and athletics from an integral conception of the human being which it manifests itself in the idea of the complete athlete. On top of being one of the pioneers of the Catalan Sport, Ponsati excelled in the field of Sport Management and, most of all, in the field of the pedagogy of sport. In short, we can conclude that Ponsati a very good friend of Pere Vergés assumed the principles and postulates of the Noucentista philosophy in the area of the pedagogy of sport.
