“La Bruixa”: PSUC volunteers in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939)

In July 1936 the PSUC after helping suffocate the attempted military rebellion in Catalonia, was reorganized in preparation for war. One of his first moves was to send volunteer militia on the Aragon front and thus halt the rebel advance. Parallel built an extensive network of centers in the territory a l’ensinistrament prepared for future combatants. Over time, the first columns are reorganized under the name of Karl Marx division turned in mid-1937 in Division 27. His military exploits have caused it has passed into history with the nickname “La Bruixa”.
