D’una fricativa a una altra Fricativització compensatòria de les oclusives sonores des-prés de l’elisió de la coda /s/ en espanyol andalús occidental

Aquest article examina la categorització perceptiva d’un fon nou en el castellà andalús occidental que sorgeix de la interacció de dos processos fonològics: la reducció d’/s/ i l’espirantització de /b d g/. Estudis previs suggereixen que, en aquest dialecte, quan una /s/ afeblida va seguida d’oclusives sonores, el resultat és sovint una fricativa simple (/sb/ [v], /sd/ [ð], /sg/ [ɣ]), un al·lòfon distintiu que compensa la lenició de /s/. Per posar a prova la seva categorització perceptiva, vam construir parells mínims com ara /u.na.bo.ta/ [u.na.β̞o.ta] vs. /u.nas.bo.tas/ [u.na.vo.ta]. Els resultats de dues tasques de discriminació mostren que els oients andalusos interpreten les realitzacions fricatives de /b d g/ com a plurals, cosa que implica la percepció d’una /s/ subjacent. Aquesta estratègia implica tres al·lòfons discrets de /b d g/: un oclusiu, un aproximant i un fricatiu precedit per /s/ elidida.
