The purpose of rethinking the course on Social Sciences taught within Mandatory Secondary Education in order to develop a coherent framework for learning that integrates social sciences and goes beyond the traditional divide between Geography and History brings the author to think about the role that Geography can play in the building of new curricular contents, and, at the same time, stress the need to integrate Geography within an interdisciplinary project that gives Geography significance and usefulness.
