L’impacte de la pandèmia en la mobilitat residencial de les Canàries: les peculiaritats dels espais insulars

L’expansió del SARS-CoV-2 va originar una gran transformació en la mobilitat a escala global i local, ja que a la immobilitat forçada s’hi va sumar la modificació de les pautes de desplaçament quotidià i variació residencial. L’estructura territorial hi va tenir un paper decisiu, i en el cas de les Canàries va ser molt important la conformació insular. Així, l’objectiu general d’aquesta investigació és identificar l’impacte diferenciat de la mobilitat residencial durant la pandèmia, i per això utilitza l’Estadística de variacions residencials (2019-2021) i una enquesta realitzada entre el 26 d’abril i el 21 de juny del 2022 amb qüestions relatives als processos migratoris, al canvi d’habitatge i a la segona residència. Els resultats obtinguts matisen les tendències de mobilitat que es van apreciar en altres àrees de la geografia espanyola a conseqüència del caràcter insular mateix.

Ph. D in Geography at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Professor of Human Geography at the same University. She has devoted most of research to the study of migrations from the perspective of Human Geography. She has collaborated and conducted different research projects funded by Spanish public institutions and has participated in two Expert Committees in the subject of immigration to the Canary Islands. Since 2012 is the Chairperson of the International Geographical Union Commission on Global Change and Human Mobility.
