From hordio to cebada: lexical isoglosses in Northern old Castilian

In this paper, some words from the agricultural lexicon — extracted from the documentation of the Monastery of Oña (10th to 13th centuries) — are analyzed and compared with the lexicon of contemporary documents of other peninsular areas with the aim of establishing some dialectal areas within the northern linguistic continuum . This tries to confirm the internal complexity of the Old Castilian language, whose lexical uses coincide sometimes with those of the western peninsular variants and others with those of the eastern ones.
