The presence of the Moroccan Arabic in the work of the writer Juan Goytisolo is clear since the publication of the first novel of the “Trilogy of the betrayal”, Signs of identity, with which the author definitively breaks with the realism of the fifties of the Last century. In this article we will present mainly the commitment to this linguistic variant of Arabic in the Trilogy and, above all, in Makbara. We have also thought that it is appropriate to make known the vision that the author has about this language and others in the Spanish text of his novels through the metaliterature that we have pulled out from them and an article appeared in the newspaper El País.
