Since the appearance of the photograph more than 150 years ago, scientific and technical advances have been incorporated in a variety of ways to artistic discourse thereby modifying both basic notions and concepts. From the fragmentation of the world which the photograph induced, we move on to works of art marked by the spectacular and exhaustive development of the image in the second half of the XX century; today new computer networks and developments are already having an influence on the latest artistic work.
