Itinerario de reflexiones

The author discovers, in texts by Teresa Martín -Santa Teresita del Niño Jesús- and by Teresa de Ávila, some passages on inner phenomena and states that she had not found before. The texts of the two Teresas allow her, due to the great capacity of both, to investigate, question and glimpse something about identity, because they do not renounce the essential, but rather reveal it, and they allow her to confirm that search for self. Lonzi seeks, in writing, in art and in feminism, the meeting point between her self and the others, between her and reality. However, on many occasions she realises that this encounter was evading her, because “the union of two incompatible entities could not be trusted to my sole individual will”. The author investigates her body, she rediscovers it, because, unlike the mystical tradition, she is interested in a sexual identity because in it she glimpses a way out through which she can be herself; she knows that to have a destiny that is not alienated she should not abdicate from her body, but rather lean on it as the element on which she bases her autonomy; this is her first creative act. The author sustains that she did not want to be something different to what she was; her challenges were to accept herself as she was.
