The author develops some hypotheses which arose in the course of her itinerant research concerning the relationships between the material and immaterial: a excess of immateriality and necessities and desires of materiality. Through the analysis of the new forms of contemporary alienation ond of the processes of de-materialisation of knowledge and know-how, the author locates elements and guidelines for a reappropriation of the provesses that are capable of keeping alive the meaning and flavour of knowledge.
