The learning of Mathematics can benefit from the use of innovative, playful and manipulative materials and resources. This allows us to present concepts in a more interesting and motivating way; thus linking Mathematics with other aspects of life so that they are more accessible to people of all ages. It also adds a gamifying aspect which makes them much more attractive. Here we introduce various types of chess Sudoku to teach maths in a more original way, we have called them SUDOchessKUS. This presentation includes curricular proposals to deal with contents such as: arithmetic, geometry or algebra, as well as other interactive and cross-curricular proposals that will help teachers to prepare lessons and engage their students in the wonderful world of Mathematics. We aim to deal with the following topics: materials, texts, other resources to support teaching, mathematical reasoning and calculation of one or more variables. We have also made a tour of chess events in which the SUDOchessKUS have been introduced both as a paper and as practice in a workshop. To finish off we present extensive bibliographic references, articles and webpages so that those restless teachers wishing to apply these original didactic proposals in their classroom could increase their understanding in the topic.
