Aristóteles y la metafísica de la metáfora.

Fran O'Rourke
Aristotle’s appreciation of metaphor is placed within the context of his emphasis
upon analogy as discerning similarities in diverse domains of reality, especially biology
and metaphysics. Metaphor expresses not proper analogy, but an imperfectly analogous
resemblance; action constitutes the metaphysical foundation of metaphoric resemblance.
Special attention is paid to metaphoric similarities between the physical and mental
spheres, indicating both man’s citizenship of two worlds, material and spiritual, but also,
sýntheton or composite, his ability to transcend this dualism. The ubiquity of metaphor is
a cipher for the unity of reality throughout the multiplicity of beings.
