Simone Weil considered the tree as an excellent symbol for both heaven and earth, the holy and the profane, identity and otherness. Significant symbols like trees could be helpful in inevitable affliction as well as in absurd living conditions and duties. It has a transfigurative force for ’each task in it’s singularity’. It helps us to draw attention to the universe and God. Therefore, to teach real symbols, like trees, should be a social priority according to Weil.
