L'actualitat del Fileb platònic, un full de ruta

L’article exposa, analitza i contrasta diverses perspectives de lectura del Fileb de Plató a partir de classificar-les en relació amb tres nuclis temàtics: a) la qüestió relativa al mètode o mètodes emprats (lògica i dialèctica); b) la qüestió relativa als plaers i la seva rellevància en la constitució de la bona vida (ètica); i finalment, c) la qüestió dels primers principis (metafísica o cosmologia). Aquesta tasca es realitza principalment a partir de revisar les ponències del vuitè Symposium Platonicum organitzat per la International Plato Society (IPS), dedicat exclusivament a exposar estudis i comentaris sobre el Fileb.

The article discusses, analyzes and contrasts different perspectives offered by the contemporary commentators of Plato’s Philebus. The different commentaries will be classified in relation to the three subjects: a) the method or methods (logic and dialectics), b) the question concerning pleasures and its importance in the constitution of the good life (ethics), and finally, c) the question of first principles (metaphysics). The paper bases a big part of its analysis on the volume dedicated to the eighth Platonicum Symposium organized by the International Plato Society (IPS) and devoted exclusively to expose contemporary studies on Plato’s Philebus.
