Gonçal de Reparaz, intel·lectual errant

In the last twenty years of the XIXth century a strong current of colonial empire building could be witnessed across Europe. However, in contrast, Spain saw the disappearance of its own overseas empire. Gonçal de Reparaz immersed himself in this process as he tried to change the situation thanks to his own Portuguese experience, grappling for whatever could be saved from the old empire along with the creation of an alternative empire in Africa.
