The recent death of the historian Carlos Serrano motives an approach to his human figure and it is the excuse to do a revision of his main works. The author describes the intellectual evolution of the French historian considering his important contribution to the explanation of Spanish contemporary history as well as his eminent position into the Hispanic studies in France.
