This article aims to assess the presence of women in historiography relating to the Republican Exile of 1939. Undoubtedly a gendered historiography that, until the decade of the nineties of the twentieth century, consisted of diaries, testimonies, autobiographical accounts, memoirs and rescue historiography, which in the twenty-first century was gradually incorporating other views towards women in exile. The conclusions suggest new lines of research.
