The Femininity In Its Extremes. A Study Of The Women Representation In Cine Z

Main Article Content

Marie Cadette Pierre-Louis

This paper aims to study the representation of women and its extremes in zombie movies. Its methodological and conceptual bases come from cultural studies and deconstruction theory, particularly ideas from Derrida (1967, 2005), Boothroyd (2006), and Sánchez et al. (2017). Furthermore, we will consider relevant works about the representation of women fiction, such as Kristeva (1980), Deleuze and Guattari (2013), and Abalia Marijuán (2020). This paper focuses on four main cases, whose ways of representing women refer to several social realities: Teenage Zombies (Warren, 1959), Flesh Eating Mothers (Martin, 1988), Deadgirl (Sarmiento & Harel, 2008), and Stripperland (Skelding, 2011).
