The aim of this work is to analyze the political strategies and alliances deployed by the ruling groups of Mendoza during the elections held in the province of Mendoza. As is well known, the electoral game —as in other provincial scenarios— was organized by political and electoral clubs that were in charge of citizens’ mobilization, shaping public opinion, and attracting votes, thus fostering channels to delegate sovereignty from the grassroots. So, how were these political associations formed in Mendoza? Which roles did local leaders play in such associations? And what mechanisms did they use to recruit
their supporters?
