This article discusses some of the key aspects of the Cuban feminist movement, questioning how women were engaged in all dimensions. The history of Cuba marginalized women, and the national discourse supported this process by appealing to rigid racial and gender structures. The analytical lines proposed are based especially on various historical processes reflected in periodicals that achieved notoriety at the time, weighed against significant historiographical context
