This article provides an analysis of the form of representation of Mexican hero Miguel Hidalgo. It starts with its appearance in paintings and prints to secure their iconography and then analyze in more detail the films that they have represented it. Exploring the films where Hidalgo was represented in the history of Mexican cinema, we can understand the changes that have occurred, emphasize the differences between private and public productions and the continuity in certain political and economics ideologies and with power groups too
