Mundet as a place: moments, configurations and meanings

Mundet, as a significant social space, is presented here in a double inscription. On the one hand, the historiographical that connects him as heir, by succession, of the Houses of Misericordia and Caritat of Barcelona. And on the other hand, from the genealogy, which relates it to the viewing devices of social action of surveillance and control and total institutions. Before this double inscription, the concept of place is located from different approaches: sociological, psychological, architectural, geographical, philosophical, etc. Information, approaches and approximations are also provided to moments of the institution that until now have been little studied: the conversion of the Llars into micro-residences during the 80s and the use that the University of Barcelona has made since the 90s of those spaces.
