The web of the Pompeu Fabra University Library: a user-oriented design

The article describes the usability study of the web of the University Pompeu Fabra's library. The study was carried out through a survey distributed to a sampling of 100 users as well as a usability test administered to eight additional users. The analysis of the results provided significant data concerning the way users interact with the library's web interface and their information needs. The usability study represents a very valuable tool for introducing improvements in the organisation, design and navigation of the web site.
