Formal social control strategies as seduction

Main Article Content

PABLO CASTRO GARCÍA

This article analyzes the increase in social precariousness and the destruction of the institutional structures as the two main socio-political problems of the social control of citizenship. Then, the instituting political proposals are defended as the best response to this scenario. We argue that these proposals are the ones that best address the political challenges of the present, escaping the two major risks of all transformative praxis: the repetition of the current institutional logics and the renunciation of all institutionalization. Finally, three examples are given: the political sociology of the last works of Pierre Bourdieu, the proposal of an instituting populism by Franklin Ramírez and Soledad Stoessel, and the defense of an instituting commoning praxis by Critian Laval and Pierre Dardot.
