A new Latin America’s pink tide? Conceptual and conjunctural approaches

Latin America have had a new upsurge of left and center-left national governments wading through like a new “pink tide”. In this cycle, the national governments, their political forces and programmatic commitments are more heterogeneous. The strategies and tactics
differ from those used by its predecessor wave in a different context. How are they similar and how are they not? This article describes seven aspects in which there are differences and similarities between two pink tides that have taken place in the 21st century in the region. We affirm the second pink tide is more moderate, pragmatic, and heterogeneous than the previous one.
