From an epistemology of the South, which reveals and explores the world’s po- tential for democratic diversity, the main aim of this paper is to extend the reflective exer-cise on the construction of new forms of democracy based on the analysis of some novel-ties in the 2009 Bolivian Constitution, particularly regarding the constitutional action surounding the recognition of communitarian democracy, identifying some of its tensions and limitations.
