Depuración doctrinal e idea del bien en el liberalismo político de John Rawls

Main Article Content

Juan Antonio Fernández Manzano
We aim to analyse whether the use of an idea of the good in Rawls is compati-ble with his claim to produce a purely political conception, free from doctrinal commit-ments. We analyse the idea of the good that Rawls uses, in what contexts and what justifi-cations he offers in order to find out if the claim of a strictly political conception is justified and if it is possible at all. The paper provides grounds to consider that the notion of the purely political and the alleged doctrinal debugging of his political conception is theoretically unattainable and undesirable in practice.
