La dimensión ético-existencial del perdón como correctivo de las políticas del perdón

This paper analyzes the concept of forgiveness in contrast with the presuppositions and limitations of a politics of forgiveness in societies in conflict, in which forgiveness is reduced to mere political calculation, the victim is no longer an active agent in the process of reconciliation, and forgiveness is at risk of becoming an instrument that officially grants impunity. The said analysis is possible through to the reconstruction of the ethical-existential dimension of forgiveness as a corrective to its political dimension. Thus, the connection of these two dimensions intends (1) to stress the contribution of a wider concept of forgiveness that (2) frees it from its exclusively political and juridical treatment.
