With this paper one aim to develop the relationship between violence and politics within the frame of Hanna Arendt’s thought, and to do it grounded mainly on two of her works, On Revolution (1963) and On Violence (1970). Thinking on what constitutes each experience in particular - the experience of violence (even if only in the form of war, or of revolution) and the experience of politics - and the relation between them, should allow us to evaluate critically the limits and possibilities of modern day democratic societies as the product of both political tradition and the modern revolutions.
