The place where family life takes place has undergone significant changes over the last century. It has been said that the most apparent, widespread and potentially homogenising influences in the twentieth century family life were in the material conditions of the home. Inside the home, the kitchen has been a pretext for talking to and talking about the housewife in Argentina, the emergence of new models of housewives and domesticity considered in the discourses about this room, although not only there has been apparent since the mid-twentieth century. This article explores the tensions and distances between those models and the experiences related by various women who narrate their life story-which coincides in time with the life of the models.
