Oportunitats museístiques impulsades per la realitat virtual: arxius digitalitzats en l’era del metavers

La tecnologia de realitat virtual (RV) ha portat noves perspectives i energia als museus d’art, tot impulsant l’avanç de noves tecnologies que poden abordar desafiaments futurs mentre satisfan les demandes de l’era del metavers. L’arxiu digital i les visites guiades d’avui dia, que depenen de la realitat virtual i de la recuperació més portàtil d’informació, aporten optimisme al desenvolupament de museus. La tecnologia de realitat virtual supera les limitacions dels museus tradicionals limitades per l’espai i el temps a mesura que l’arxiu digital es converteix gradualment en una realitat. Aquest estudi destaca els beneficis de l’arxiu en línia impulsat pel metavers des de la perspectiva dels usuaris, seguit d’una revisió d’exemples recents d’ús de la RV per a l’arxiu d’art multimèdia. Posem l’accent en la importància de continuar investigant les tecnologies emergents inexplorades en l’arxiu d’art multimèdia i proposem que les tecnologies de RV en el metavers siguin facilitadors essencials per a finalitats d’arxiu en línia. El nostre treball té com a objectiu ajudar els investigadors d’art, arxivers, professionals i artistes a comprendre els desafiaments i les necessitats futures de l’arxiu d’art multimèdia en el metavers encara en desenvolupament. A més, analitzem els casos actuals d’ús de la RV per a la conservació de l’art multimèdia després de descriure els avantatges de l’arxiu en línia impulsat per metaversos des del punt de vista dels usuaris. Posem l’accent en la necessitat d’estudis addicionals sobre noves tecnologies en la conservació de l’art dels mitjans. A més, les tecnologies de realitat virtual del metavers exerceixen un paper crucial en l’assoliment dels objectius d’arxiu en línia. Aquesta recerca contribueix a una millor comprensió dels desafiaments i els requisits futurs de l’arxiu de l’art multimèdia en el metavers en evolució per a investigadors d’art, arxivers i artistes.

Ze Gao, Universitat de Ciència i Tecnologia d’Hong Kong

És un artista de nous mitjans, teòric i curador amb seu a Hong Kong i Nova York. Va estudiar Belles Arts multidisciplinàries al Maryland Institute College of Art i va obtenir un mestratge en Art amb honors en la School of Visual Arts de Nova York. Les seves instal·lacions de fotografia, realitat augmentada, performances de captura de moviment i instal·lacions interactives s’han exhibit internacionalment a la Xina, el Japó, Singapur, Amèrica del Nord i Europa. Una mostra selecta de les seves exposicions inclou l’exposició d’art ACM Multimèdia 2022 a Lisboa, ISEA 2022 a Barcelona, ARTeFACTo 2022 a Macau, la galeria d’art xinesa CHI 2022 (Premi Diamond) a Guangzhou, l’exposició finalista del Premi Global d’Art Digital de la NTU a Singapur, l’Exposició Internacional d’Art 2019 a París a Vanities Gallery.

Tristan Camille Braud, Universitat de Ciència i Tecnologia d’Hong Kong

És professor adjunt en la Divisió de sistemes integratius i disseny de la Universitat de Ciència i Tecnologia d’Hong Kong. Va dirigir el Extended Reality and Immersive Media Lab (XRIM Lab) sobre la realitat augmentada, la realitat virtual i el metavers. Va obtenir un doctorat a la Universitat Grenoble Alps, França, en 2016. Prèviament, va ser estudiant d’enginyeria a Grenoble INP Phelma/Ensimag, França, i va rebre un MSC del Politecnico di Torino, Itàlia, i del Grenoble INP, França. El seu objectiu de recerca principal és la realitat augmentada i virtual del sistema a l’aplicació i la interacció, tot seguint un enfocament de disseny de sistemes centrat en l’ésser humà.

Varvara Guljajeva, Universitat de Ciència i Tecnologia de Hong Kong

Professora adjunta de Computational Media and Arts a la Universitat de Ciència i Tecnologia de Hong Kong (Guangzhou). Anteriorment, va ocupar càrrecs a l'Acadèmia d'Arts d'Estònia i a l'Escola de Disseny Elisava de Barcelona. La seva tesi doctoral "From Interaction to Post Participation: The Disappearing Role of the Active Participant" va ser seleccionada en la categoria dels resums de millor qualitat per Leonardo Labs el 2020. Com a artista, treballa juntament amb Mar Canet formant un duet d'artistes Varvara & Mar. Sovint el treball del duet està inspirat en l'era de la informació. Els seus treballs es van mostrar a MAD, Barbican, Ars Electronica, ZKM, etc.
