Internet resources to map educational racial prejudice in Brazil

Even if the myth of “racial democracy” still stands in the social imaginary of some sectors of Brazilian society, data from Instituto de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira (INEP) and from Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) demonstrate that, in Brazil, social and racial relations are yet to be democratized. We intend here, from the observation of these indices, to reflect on three facets of the ethnical-racial problems currently affecting the Brazilian educational scope: the perception of the school community on ethnical and cultural diversities; the context in which public policies to combat racial discrimination through education are created; and the reception of inclusion policies by the society.
