The featured letters give proof of the affection that Estanislau Figueras Moragas held for his mother’s side of
the family. He comes to the aid of his two nephews, Narcís Oller Moragas and Josep Yxart Moragas, sons of his cousins Rosa and Joana Moragas Tavern, respectively. He takes joy in the marriage of Oller; he tells them about his daily routines; and shares the pleasures of fatherhood with Yxart, with whom he had shared living quarters in Madrid for nearly a year, and even maps out the political situation of France in his day, with which he was well acquainted. All in all, the letters shed light on little-known aspects of the private life and political point of view of this major Catalan politician. Publication of the letters has opened the way to obtaining information regarding several family members.
