L’arquitectura de demà: un enfocament radical

Architecture has always been analyzed and thought of as temporally continuous and specificin terms of its locality. Speculation about the architecture of the future is thus closely related tocurrent events as well as human choices and desires. Architectural production does not take intoaccount predictions, forecasts or expectations of how the future will be, neither as a concern noras a duty. However, architectural thought may benefit from taking into account speculations andfuture scenarios, not only to identify problems but also to find possible solutions. Therefore, insteadof discussing the projection of the interrelation between present-day and future architecture, thispaper argues that it is necessary to discuss issues such as what architecture should be and howarchitects ought to be. Our concern should be the future of architecture, not the architecture ofthe future.
