The lives of farmers’ wives after the war are very interesting to portray due to their difficult daily tasks they had to go through. They had a lot of hardship working on the land that made them see life in a different way. After having interviewed some of the farmer’s wives born in the early twentieth century, the historical context has been researched and how the changes they went through influenced them during their lifetime. From all this, a statistical analysis has been developed. The different stages of the women’s lives have been taken into account and in the end a model of a farmer’s wife who had lived during the post-war period has been developed. From the research one can conclude that this model could be defined as a conformist woman that has been the backbone of family. This research project wants to show the importance of these farmers’ wives influence.
