During the Franco regime, the journalistic profession was subject to the control of government authorities. Only those were considered journalists who were registered in an official registry, in which, in addition to those who had graduated from the Official School of Journalism, there were also people who passed special courses and others who had nothing to do with the trade, but held political positions with the administration. In 1963, an order from the Ministry of Information and Tourism announced an exceptional concession of press cards, which only favored a few. In this article, we illustrate the case with the aspirants of the Girona region.
