About the Gregorian Reform in Catalonia, in the previous studies, the foreign investigators tend to give importance to the action of the Papacy and the catalan investigators to the typical movements of Catalonia like “the Peace and Truce of God”. Because of its tendency, the counts of Barcelona appear to be passive before the action of the Papacy and the reformative priests. The author analyzes the actions of the Papacy and the reactions of Catalonia, especially those of the counts, through the investigation of the documents of the age and clarifi es the political infl uence of the Gregorian Reform in Catalonia.
