Prospecciones en torno a las tierras de Umar Ibn Hafsun

In this report we are talking about the “cortijo” (=special kind of Andalusian farmhouse) where Umar ibn Hafsun, the Caliph of Cordoba Abd-al-Ralman III´s main opponent, was born and spent his early years. Next to the “cortijo” there is a necropolis which consists of tombs carved in the rock and a few metres far away from it, ther is a lovely Mozarabic hermitage. It is inside a small half-artificial two-stratum cave and on the ground we can observe two profaned graves. The whole site deserves to be excavated thoroughly.
